Regionalization Online (CA)

Regionalization, restructuring, partnership, working together, collaboration, consolidation are among the many terms used to define actions taken by some small 
utilities to pool resources and address common problems. Aging infrastructure, 
lack of volunteers, inability to manage/operate the utility, increasing regulatory 
requirements, and inability to pay competitive salaries are among the many 
factors driving utilities to band with other area utilities. 
This workshop is designed for decision makers, operators, staff and those involved 
with the day-to-day operations of a utility. 
Participants will learn and understand:
• Regionalization vs. consolidation
• Different governance structures
• Different ways to work together
• To determine when partnering is the right thing
