Revised Total Coliform Rule (RTCR) ONLINE
Drinking water is one of the oldest known public health concerns. Preventing
waterborne disease is one of the primary objectives of any drinking water system.
Although waterborne disease outbreaks are relatively uncommon in the United
States, they do occur.
The importance of regular microbial monitoring cannot be overemphasized. So
much of your water system is underground and hidden from view; the only way
to be sure you are effectively protecting public health is to monitor the quality of
water delivered to customer taps. The primary tool for this is coliform monitoring.
This monitoring and regulation is under revision and we have the latest on the
2016 Revised Total Coliform Rule (RTCR) and how to comply.
