Description:

This workshop will cover utility management aspects of council/board roles and responsibilities and is intended for both new and experienced Board members and management staff of a drinking water system. For new board members and managers, it is an ideal orientation to all of the aspects of their new role. For those with some experience, it can serve as a useful refresher and an update for their continuing role as a governing or appointed official. Regardless of experience level, this workshop will reaffirm the responsibilities to maintain and improve the community’s health by protecting its water. Those in attendance of the workshop will find it to be helpful and worthwhile in the performance of their duties and decision-making process.

Participants will learn:

·        What the job of a utility board member is, including legal responsibilities and setting policy

·        Regulatory responsibilities

·        How to conduct board responsibilities

·        Fiduciary responsibilities
