Description:

Learn about updates to HUD’s AFFH rule, “Restoring AFFH Definitions and Certification”, effective July 31, 2021. Understand how the withdrawal of HUD’s Preserving Communities and Neighborhood Choice rules and the reinstatement of the AFFH statutory mandates, certifications and definitions of the 2015 AFFH requirements affect agencies in complying with the obligations of the Fair Housing Act. Review the updated processes required to affirmatively further fair housing, what steps towards “meaningful action” are and the process to conduct an Analysis of Impediments (AI) or other planning process and available TA from HUD’s Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity to assist participants.

 

Participants will learn :

·        How to understand past Fair Housing and AFFH processes and revisions to these processes, effective 7/31/2021

·        How to increase compliance with the Fair Housing Act and AFFH requirements and certifications

·        Effective planning strategies and processes in developing AFFH goals to overcome historic patterns of segregation, promote fair housing choice and foster inclusive communities that are free from discrimination

Scholarship & Fees:

Scholarships are available for the first 75 registrants.

You must work for a HUD approved counseling agency to receive a scholarship. 

The scholarship code is HCOE

If you are employed by a for-profit agency, there is a $50.00 per person fee to attend the webinar series.
