NOTE: To receive training credits attendees must actively participate throughout the workshops. You must answer 70% of all poll questions & pop quizzes. Attendance is recorded throughout, & the evaluation at the end of the workshop is mandatory to complete.

This training is being held in Mountain Time.


Part 1 | Basic hydrology

This module begins with the definition of groundwater & the basic hydrologic cycle including a description of aquifer types.


Participants will learn:

·       Basic well drilling methods

·       General geologic formations where groundwater exists based on data analyzed from mud logging


Part 2 | Well operations

This module will present participants with the anatomy or parts of a completed will, including the differences between submersible versus a turbine pump & motors.


We will cover basic operation & maintenance, record keeping essentials & conclude with the method used to abandon a groundwater supply well.


Participants will learn:

·       The definition of common well terms

·       The cone of depression

·       The common water quality issues associated with groundwater



This training will be hosted online on GoToTraining.

Are you attending as a group, but not watching from your own computer?

Attendees do not need to participate from their own computer/device for the online trainings but will need to complete an evaluation to receive credit. Your group leader will need to inform RCAC ( about attendees who will view sessions as a group prior to session start. Please note that sign-in sheets NO LONGER validate attendance at online workshops.
