Date & Time:
The Emergency Response Planning training will be held on the following date:
November 2 | 8:30AM-3:30PM
Description:
Step right up folks! Welcome to California, practically an amusement park of disasters and emergencies! California has floods, fires and earthquakes. It also experiences “planned” electrical outages, a recent pandemic, drought and new regulations that impact our budgets. All of these issues can potentially cause harm or death to our customers, staff, or the environment, and can potentially affect our budgets.
This workshop will assist public water system personnel in being as prepared as they can be for these disasters, emergencies and more. It all starts with discussion and learning from others. We will guide participants through the best process for developing a written emergency response plan and how to develop an emergency reserve to make sure that there are funds on hand immediately after any emergency.
Participants will learn:
· Options for the initial response to the most common emergencies for California public water systems
· Resources to help water system personnel be as prepared as they can be for disasters
· An emergency response plan template with discussion
· Group activities to learn from others' experiences
· First steps to take in order to acquire FEMA funding if the water system is impacted severely
This training is intended for water system board members, managers, and water operators and it is valid for contact hours for all certified California operators.
