Description:

Senate Bill 552 mandates new actions be taken by state, county and small water suppliers. What do you need to know, and what actions do you need to take? There are new responsibilities to reduce the risk of inadequate water supply during a water shortage event. We will identify potential water shortage risks for small water suppliers and rural communities, and we will outline emerging requirements and resources along the road to improved drought resilience.

 

Participants will learn:

·        New requirements in California's drought resilience, reporting, planning and response

·        Online tools for exploring and identifying water shortage risks

·        Links and resources for drought reporting requirements

·        How to create and implement a water shortage contingency plan

·        Current and upcoming deadlines for state compliance

·        Communication and coordination guidance for water suppliers, customers and government

·        Planning strategies and resources for water shortage vulnerability and disaster preparedness

 

The recommended audience includes operators, managers, board members, and elected

officials
