Description:

The typical wastewater treatment system starts with the collection system in order to bring the community wastewater to the treatment plant. Then the fun begins! This workshop will introduce (or reintroduce) primary wastewater treatment (screens and grinders), primary wastewater treatment (clarification basins), wastewater pond systems, secondary treatment (activated sludge and trickling filters), digesters and sludge disposal and finally, disinfection and dechlorination of wastewater effluent.

Participants will learn:

·        Basics of wastewater pretreatment

·        Primary clarifier operation

·        Wastewater pond treatment

·        Activated sludge and trickling filters

·        Disinfection
