Description:

This interactive online training equips small water and wastewater system operators with essential knowledge and practical tools to enhance both cyber resilience and emergency preparedness. Participants explore the fundamentals of cybersecurity, including common threats, attack methods, and consequences. The course emphasizes practical protection strategies—like secure passwords, phishing awareness, antivirus use, and data backups—along with real-world examples and self-assessment tools.
In addition to cybersecurity, the session covers foundational elements of emergency response planning.

 

Topics include:

·       Maintaining updated contact lists

·       Documenting manual system operations

·      Running practice drills

·       Developing standard operating procedures (SOPs)

·       Keeping utility system maps current

 

Attendees leave with actionable steps to strengthen both cyber and operational readiness tailored to small utility needs.
