Date & Time:

The Operator Math Basics & Dosing training will be held on the following date and time:

July 30 8:30 AM-3:30 PM |

This training is being held in the Pacific Time Zone.

Description:

One of the most important skills that water treatment and distribution operators need is the ability to solve water math problems. In this workshop we will begin with an outline of water math basics, starting with a quick review of conversion factors and calculations for tank and pipe volumes.

Along the way we’ll study formulas on static well levels and head pressures, then building the simple problems into compound math formulas for chemical dosing. Materials will be provided that relate to CA Waterboards Grade I and 2 certifications. Extra time will be devoted to working on practice problems together on each topic, further honing your operator math skills.

Participants will learn:

·        How to approach operator math problems

·        Conversion factors and water math formulas

·        Converting distances in miles, yards, feet, and inches

·        Calculating and converting tanks, and pipe volumes in acre-feet, cubic feet, and gallons

·        Working on problems calculating static well and head pressure

·        Reviewing chemical dosing formulas and using them in practice problems

The recommended audience includes operators, managers and board members.
