Description:

This course will provide counselors with an understanding of how to analyze credit reports, how FICO scores are determined, and include the development of strategies for improving their clients’ short- and long-term financial situations. 

 

Participants will learn:

·       How to help their clients take the steps needed to repair their credit and provide guidance on making financial decisions.

 

Topics will include:

·       Assisting clients to understand how to deal with credit related issues

·       How to re-establish credit after the pandemic; pandemic related resources and protections for consumers

·      Identifying fraud and predatory lending tactics

 

Class presentation materials and spoken language instruction will be provided in Spanish.

Este curso proporcionará a los asesores una comprensión de cómo analizar los reportes de crédito, cómo se determinan las puntuaciones FICO, e incluye el desarrollo de estrategias para mejorar la situación financiera de sus clientes a corto y largo plazo.

Scholarship & Fees:

There is no fee to register. Comparable RCAC trainings have a $100 registration fee. To cover registration fees, HUD scholarships will be given to participants from HUD-approved agencies. To receive a HUD scholarship, please include you agency’s HUD number in the registration form. Participants from non-HUD-approved agencies will be given an RCAC scholarship. To receive an RCAC scholarship, please put “Non-HUD Agency” in the registration from where it asks for the agency HUD number

 

Becas y cuotas:

Refund Policy:

RCAC does not issue refunds for any tuition paid to attend the HUD trainings. Training tuition fees are non-refundable, though refund requests may be considered on a case-by-case basis and must be approved in writing by the Housing Counseling Program Manager.
