Attendees are required to submit their certificates to the state of New Mexico for credits.

The Financial Water Leadership Series training will be held on the following dates and times:

November 14  | 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM 

December 12  | 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM | Graduation

These trainings are being held in the Mountain Time Zone.

Description:

You are invited to join the Water Leadership Institute!
Take the lead in strengthening your water system’s finances. The Water Leadership Institute will help you build the skills, knowledge and community connections to manage water system budgets with confidence. This unique leadership training is recommended for water system board members and bookkeepers. Utility partners are welcome and encouraged to attend, such as accountants, local and state funders, Councils of Governments and others. The priority is for systems with 500 connections or less, and/or struggling with financial management.

Participants will learn:
·    To increase regulatory compliance of community water systems
·     Financial planning and implementation practices for utilities and staff
·     To measure the financial capacity of their systems in all aspects
·     To apply routine asset management practices into regular management and operations of systems
·     To practice constructing and presenting fair ad adequate rate structures for boards and communities

Stipends are available for participants who complete 75% or more of the training sessions.
