Ongoing drought conditions spell hard times for those affected. Whether your source water is from a river, reservoir, or a well, communities are increasingly at risk. Conservation is now the norm in California due to the drought severity of recent times. Legislative efforts of state, cities and counties have increased, and these practices are here to stay, in preparation for more dry years to come. This presentation will identify drought-related vulnerabilities in your systems and communities, and share knowledge on drought monitoring, preparedness, and emerging regulations.

Participants will learn:

·        Learning topics gathered from Trainer

·        Locate resources to assess current climate information

·        Determine the triggers for different drought stage activities

·        Develop best practices to reduce water use and promote water conservation

·        Create a drought and emergency response plan using required core elements

·        Identify tools and resources to keep up with current and emerging regulations

The recommended audience includes operators, managers and elected officials.
