California is no stranger to natural disasters, wildfires, floods, earthquakes, tsunamis, and droughts are all part of the landscape. A water system emergency is any situation in which customers may be without water, or the water is unsafe to drink. The critical question is: when disaster strikes, are you prepared? Do you have a written response plan, a drought contingency plan, and mutual aid agreements in place to safeguard public health? How will you protect the health of your customers? This workshop equips water system personnel with knowledge and tools to respond proactively and effectively to emergencies, ensuring resilience and protection of the communities they serve

Participants will learn:

·     The wide variety of emergency situations to which California’s water systems are exposed

·      How to formulate and adopt a Drought Contingency Plan

·      How to establish effective mutual aid agreements

·      How to create an emergency and disaster response plan using the SWRCB-approved template

Recommended Audience: water system personnel including operators, board members and utility managers

Location:

This training will be hosted online on GoToTraining.

Scholarship & Fees:

Emergency Response Planning is a free training to attend.
