The purpose of this training is to provide small Tribal water systems with the tools needed to develop or improve an Operations Plan document. These important documents outline day-to-day operations for their public water system. It can also be used to train and educate new personnel, existing staff and health department or EPA staff. This training will also explain how this document can assist with other important planning aspects and documents of the public water systems, specifically Capital Improvement Planning, budgeting for system upgrades and improvements, establishing proper rates (when applicable) for system longevity and Emergency Response Planning. The training will also provide the participants with online resources and templates.

 

Participants will learn:

·        Learning topics gathered from Trainer

·      Operations Plan legal requirement

·      Components in an Operations Plan

·      Basic steps in developing an Operations Plan

·      Implementing the Emergency Response Plan into the Ops Plan for Tribal Water systems

·      How the Operations Plan can be utilized for future financial planning
