The purpose of these workshops is to provide attendees with the knowledge needed to become a certified water or wastewater operator for a Tribal system in California and surrounding states. The first day of this training will address water systems. The exams for this certification are given by the Tribal Water Systems Operator Certification Program (ITCA), and in California the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB), Office of Operator Certification (OOC) administers operator certification exams for water distribution and treatment operators throughout the year. This allows public water system staff/operators to become certified distribution or treatment operators or advance their current certification level.

The second day of this training will be spent with wastewater system operators.

Operators that are planning on taking this state exam need to be as prepared as possible. This three-hour event will provide the attendees with the knowledge needed to pass this exam. This knowledge includes the wastewater system basics, operator certification regulations, the steps for taking the exams, what to expect when taking the exam utilizing the math conversion sheet provided by the proctors. The workshop will also provide information regarding the basic differences between the different types of wastewater treatment. The session will also include basic wastewater system math problems and solutions.
