Description:
One of many skills needed by water treatment and distribution operators is the ability to solve water math problems. Dosing a tank, flushing hydrants, and calculating static pressures are all part of a system’s daily operational needs. In this in-person workshop we’ll begin with simple math problems- area, volume, conversion factors- and build our way to the promised land- chemical dosing and the compound math problems you’ll encounter on the state exam. You’ll learn how successfully answering the required 15 math questions is a winning strategy.
Participants will learn:
· Learning topics gathered from Trainer
· How to approach operator math problems
· Conversion Factors
· Converting distances in miles, yards, feet and inches
· Tank and Pipe Volumes in acre-feet, cubic feet, and gallons
· Pressure calculations
· Chemical dosing formulas
The recommended audience includes operators, managers & board members.
