Asset Management Plan is a 3 Part Series is offered as a three-part online course; for maximum effectiveness we recommend taking the three parts. Part 1 will take place from 10am to 12:00pm on June 1st, Part 2 will take place from 10:00am to 12:00pm on June 3rd and Part 3 will take place from 10am - 12 pm on June 5th. These trainings are funded by the New Mexico Environment Department Drinking Water Bureau through the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund.
Session 1: Introduction to Asset Management (2 hours) June 1, 2020 - This session will assess participant knowledge and needs, and explore key concepts of asset management.
Elements: pre-test; online poll/introduction; course logistics, key asset management concepts (current state of assets, level of service, critical assets, minimum life cycle cost, and long-term funding); benefits of asset management planning
Session 2: Asset Management: “A Deeper Dive” (2 hours) June 3, 2020 - Using guided exercises this session will provide a more in-depth understanding of AM concepts with the goal of developing a fully functional asset management plan.
Elements: brief review of Session 1, case study, online exercises, review.
Session 3: Asset Management: “Putting It All Together” (2 hours) June 5, 2020 - This session will survey tools, resources and strategies for developing the plan. The course will review previous learning and close by presenting a fully functional asset management plan.
Elements: asset inventory/mapping (CUPSS Mobile Assistant), database software, websites to learn more about asset management, sample asset management plan, post-test, and evaluation.
